Meet Tate

Hi my name is Tatum Paul (my friends call me “Tate”) and I created Galveston History Buffs to keep my connection to Galveston Island. I spent a lot of time traveling for the military, but Galveston has always held a special place in my heart. I spent most summers visiting my grandparents on the island, where I first developed my love for its history and culture. I love the “island life” in general.

My childhood visits left a lasting impression, sparking a lifelong fascination with the stories, architecture, and people that have shaped Galveston over the centuries. Driven by a desire to preserve these memories and share them with others, I started this website.
